COLLECTIVE WRITING & INDEPENDENT STORY WRITING
Duration/Time: 2 hours x 1 days = 2 hrs total
Grade/Level: 1 – 6
The Process: Students brainstorm ideas and create a class “story starter” with a writer. Using Idea Tokens, we ensure each child has a chance to voice their ideas. Students are then encouraged to work independently to come up with their own endings to the class story. A guest artist enriches the students’ experience by helping to draw the characters the kids come up with. “Alpha” is an excellent “basic” workshop for all age groups and ability levels.
The Outcome: Each student receives a fantastic book with his or her own ending in it.
