Facilitate Workshops

Story Planet is looking for writers to lead or support our school workshops for grades 3–6. If you have experience working in a class or workshop setting and share our commitment to promoting young voices, get in touch!

Having kids see themselves in their mentors and leaders is critical, so we prioritize the hiring of facilitators who represent the students we work with and who live in or are from the communities we serve.

All positions at Story Planet are on a contract basis, and you must be available to work during school hours at least one day a week.

Volunteer in the classroom

Volunteers are critical to all that Story Planet does! Volunteers allow us to work with kids one-on-one and consider their individual challenges and circumstances.

The ideal volunteers for Story Planet are great with kids, committed to our mission, and dependable—aside from that, they come from all sectors, from education to law to the arts.

Volunteers must be able to work during school hours and travel to schools in the GTA. Get in touch—we’d love to get to know you!

Volunteer at our Store

Alien Art Market is Story Planet’s home on Earth, located in Seaton Village, a creative hub where we run workshops; sell gifts, books, and Story Planet merch; and work and meet.

The store is open Thursday–Sunday, 12–6 p.m. and is staffed in 3- to 6-hour shifts by Story Planet staff and volunteers.

If you live in the neighbourhood and want to be a part of this dynamic space, stop by or get in touch!
