Story Dance: A Collaboration with The National Ballet of Canada

This spring, The National Ballet’s YOU dance (Youth, Outreach, and Understanding dance) and Story Planet spent two months with students at Driftwood Public School, beginning with poetry and lyric writing workshops led by Story Planet facilitators.

After the students recorded their song, “The Internet” (composed by Marel Alemany), the Ballet’s Senior Teaching Artist Annemarie Cabri choreographed and rehearsed the final piece with the students.

Finally, the night of the big performance arrived! Teachers, parents, and community members applauded as the dancers took their final bows on stage at York University.

Here’s a peek at the night’s performance.
