Community-Based Programming
Story Planet runs a few programs outside of schools, created to meet a special need in the community. These are offered at no cost, reducing barriers to participation.
Being Me
A virtual online program for trans youth
Being Me! is a virtual four-week (twice a week) community-building space for youth (ages 10-15) who identify as trans, non-binary, 2-spirit or have questions and curiosities about their gender identity and/or expression. Led by Bilal Baig (Sort Of, Acha Bacha) and supported by a team of artists, participants will explore their own creative voices in group-writing activities and individual stories.
Participants will engage with art created by trans/non-binary artists and will be encouraged to share their stories with one another. All participants will have access to a registered therapist throughout the program. If required, participants will be able to access this program anonymously.

My Monsters Hold Me Soft
An online program that helps participants heal from abuse and trauma through comics and zines
My Monsters is an online creative workshop for marginalized youth aged 17–25 who have been directly affected by abuse and other forms of trauma. Utilizing the creation of comics and zines as a therapeutic approach, the program helps participants acknowledge and confront traumatic experiences—the “monsters” in their heads—while connecting to a supportive community in a safe, welcoming space. This program was created by Vincy Lim
